British Tour
The only practicable way to complete a tour in one day of the principal sites of the British Landing Sector of the D-Day Beaches from the UK is by light aircraft charter.
A significant extra benefit of this tour is the opportunity to fly over the significant sites within the American Sector, comprising: Omaha Beach, the American Military Cemetery, Pointe du Hoc and the Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches. Often this can be done both ways and gives an additional appreciation of the Mulberry Harbour when visited on the ground.
This would be your schedule and itinerary:-
7am. (7.45am weekend) Collection by executive car from your London Hotel (or other areas by arrangement) to Oxford Airport.
9am. 65 minute flight from Oxford Airport by twin-engined Piper Seneca operated by AirMed to Carpiquet Airfield, Caen, Normandy.
10am. Collection from Carpiquet Airfield by car with me as your guide for a 6-hour unforgettable visit to the following sites:-
The Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches
Gold, Juno and Sword Beaches with stops at points of interest
Pegasus Bridge
Pegasus Memorial Museum
The Café Gondree
The British Military Cemetery at Ranville. (Time allowing)
4pm. Board aircraft at Carpiquet.
5pm Arrive Oxford Airport.
7pm. Arrival at London hotel by executive car.
The cost for the day is GBP 1975 for up to four people (or five people supplement GBP 125), provided their total weight with luggage does not exceed 900lbs, inclusive of flights, a light lunch, all transfers, all miles of travel by car around the sites, and my guide services inclusive of a comprehensive historical narrative at each site. If you choose to have an overnight stay in Normandy to allow visits to other D-Day Landing Sectors, a supplement of GBP 650 will be charged to keep the aircraft on the ground overnight, the pilot’s subsistence and the extra day of touring. Accommodation and meals will be arranged at the three star Lion d’Or hotel in Bayeux and you will be responsible for the hotel charges upon departure.
As an option, the pilot can fly over Europe’s single most popular tourist attraction of Le Mont St Michel on the return journey. A supplement of GBP 300 will be payable and the weight limit for this leg must not exceed 750lbs.
Payment can be made by Visa or MasterCard. Two debits will be taken from the card, one to Perception Travel Co. Ltd for the guide and vehicle services, and the other to AirMed for the air transfers; the addition of both charges will total the sum payable at time of booking.
